Welcome to the American School of Martial Arts — Wake Forest Kung Fu website. Join the exciting world of Martial Arts and Self-Defense as taught by Grandmaster Don Baird and his wife Maria.

Grandmaster Baird, a Christian pastor and 2009 Masters Hall of Fame, teaches traditional Martial Arts, Self-Defense, Kung Fu, and grappling arts. His 48 years of teaching experience includes being a guest instructor for the California Association of Force Instructors as well as being a former technical advisor for the Burbank Police Department. He also developed the first Christian Karate Club in 1979.

Our system, now known as "Suh Do Kwan", was first Established in the US in 1964, in Burbank CA, under our Founder, Grandmaster Suh, Young-ik. The Burbank location is the long time, highly esteemed America School of Martial Arts with a wonderful history of over 60 years in America!

Today, at Wake Forest Kung Fu, Grandmaster Baird and his wife continue to provide a friendly, family oriented school that is welcoming and engaging for all. And they offer classes for most ages of children and adults, both! We look forward to getting you started on your personal martial art journey soon. It's affordable; it's fun!
